Still Waters:

A 3 Day Silent Retreat

What to Expect

A genuine pause from the noise of everyday life.

Still Waters is designed to help you slow down, put the phone away, and return to yourself - through silence, movement, and the healing presence of the White Mountains and the river right outside your door.

❋ Real Silence

From the evening of July 7th, we enter silence together. No small talk, no scrolling, no performing. Just you, the mountains, and the sound of the river. Slow down your nervous system so you can finally hear yourself.

❋ Guided Practices

Each day is gently held with QiGong, meditation, and slow nature walks along the river.

An evening fire ceremony and a restorative sound bath round out the experience. Everything is accessible - no prior experience needed.

❋ Nourishing Space

The retreat house is nestled in the White Mountains with the river running alongside.

Guests are invited to enjoy healthy vegetarian meals and sugar-free treats.

You'll sleep well, eat well, and breathe deeply.

❋ A Small, Held Group

This retreat is intentionally intimate. A small group means every person is seen, not lost in a crowd. You'll share the silence with kindred souls - and discover that connection doesn't need words.

Why Silence?

We live in a world that never stops talking. Our phones, our to-do lists, our own racing thoughts - the noise is constant.

Most of us have forgotten what it feels like to simply be quiet. Science shows that Silence actively restores the brain, lowers cortisol, reduces blood pressure, and rebuilds the focus and creativity that daily life drains away. But beyond the science, something else happens in the quiet that's harder to explain - and that you simply have to experience for yourself.

When you step away from the noise, you start to hear yourself again. You sleep more deeply. You eat more slowly.

You notice things. Solutions to problems you've been carrying for months appear without effort.

A calm settles in that doesn't leave when the retreat ends - it travels home with you.

People often arrive at a silent retreat skeptical. They leave wondering why they waited so long.

That energy, that clarity, that sense of coming home to yourself - that's what I would like you to experience

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Not at all. Everything I offer is designed to meet you exactly where you are. Whether you've never meditated before or you have an existing practice, you are welcome here. There is no right way to do any of this.

  • It probably will - at first. That discomfort is actually part of the process, and it's completely normal. Most people find that within a few hours, something starts to settle. I'll be there to hold the space gently throughout, and you are never alone in the experience.

  • Healthy, vegetarian, and genuinely nourishing. The retreat house has a full kitchen and meals are prepared with care — think wholesome food, sugar-free treats, and snacks available throughout the day. You'll eat well without it ever feeling restrictive.

  • The retreat house has WiFi, but we ask that you treat this as a phone-free, screen-free experience for the duration of the retreat. This is one of the most important parts of what we're here to do together. If you have a genuine emergency need to stay reachable, please speak to me and we'll find a solution.

  • There are three tiers of accommodation — shared rooms with shared bathroom, private rooms with shared bathroom, and private rooms with ensuite bathroom. All rooms are comfortable and carefully chosen to support rest. Full details and pricing are available on the booking page.

  • Absolutely — and most people do. Solo travelers are not only welcome, they are the heart of this retreat. You will not feel alone. Silence has a remarkable way of creating connection without a single word being spoken.

  • Yes — a couple option is available for select private ensuite rooms (Bedroom #3 and #6). If you'd like to attend with a friend who books their own room, that is also completely fine. Please note that even if you know each other, silence is observed by everyone equally.

  • Comfortable clothing you can move in, warm layers for evenings by the fire, sturdy shoes for walking, a journal, a water bottle, and an open heart. Leave your laptop at home. Your phone can come with you — but it'll spend most of the weekend off and trust me, you won´t want to turn it back on

  • All bookings are final. Cancellations are not possible and all payments are non-refundable. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance at the time of booking. If you cannot attend, you may transfer your spot to someone else with at least 72 hours notice. Full details are on the booking page.

  • Yes — please. You can book a free 30-minute discovery call with me directly at saltairspirit.com. I'd love to answer any questions you have before you decide.
